INTER ACADEMY | A SPORTS FACILITY OF EXCELLENCE
A magnificent sports centre in Milan in 1985 by the will of the father of the current owners, Mr Messerotti.
Where there used to be an esplanade of land now stands a centre of excellence, consisting of 8 fields all in artificial turf.
‘The history of our centre started in 1985 by my father,’ says Marco Messerotti, president of the Inter Academy, ‘and piece by piece, one pitch after another, it became what it is now. A jewel with all artificial turf pitches, thanks to the partnership with Limonta, of the latest generation. We have 18 Academy teams plus the Inter youth teams for both women and men, so over 300 boys and girls train every day, on perfect surfaces. State-of-the-art artificial turf that requires very little maintenance, allowing them to be used all year round with an incredible yield.
Progress has gone hand in hand with improvements to the facility: from the grandstands with seats to the online ticket office to adapt even in times of covid. A special relationship with Limonta, born of interpersonal ties.
Francesco Lavorato, Commercial Director, was a former volleyball player that I used to go to see. When we met, it was great to be able to create the current relationship that sees us as Limonta’s management clients of which we are proud.
Thanks to them we have perfect courts, with incredible drainage that allows us to never postpone or cancel matches even when it rains a lot, with crazy performances’.
As Academy coach Beppe Bergomi, who has been training on Lionta’s pitches every day for years, confirms: “For a youth sector coach, having a perfect pitch is fundamentally important. As Favini used to say, with young people you have to work on technique and fundamentals. And having a perfect pitch is ideal: for ball handling, control, etc. children are ‘sponges’ and on these pitches you have the opportunity to teach and transmit. Over the years at the Academy I have seen a quantum leap with the new pitches. Also in terms of injuries, compared to when I trained elsewhere on ‘older’ pitches, today there are fewer sprain injuries and the boys respond very well to the stress. In fact, training on these fields is a real stimulus for them too, and they come with more desire. As do I and those who train. It’s unique and a pleasure!”.
