Valladolid, May 2021 | The ambitious Arroyo de la Encomienda project, located in Las Lomas de Sotoverde, begins to take shape: a new large sports facility that will allow Arroyo Rugby to make a definitive leap towards the elite, starting with the goal of the Division of Honor B, marked in three years.
A project, carried out by the Arroyo de la Encomienda City Council, which will lead to the construction of a sports complex of more than 77,000 square meters of the highest level, composed mainly of two rugby fields and a soccer field with a perimeter ring of athletics, a grandstand with capacity for about a thousand people and a service building.
The works, which began in May 2019 and stopped due to the pandemic, are progressing very quickly. Phase I has been completed with a budget that amounts to just over two million euros, with the execution of the first artificial turf field that has already obtained Homologation according to Regulation 22 of World Rugby Federation, the installation of the lighting of the The first field, which has a system of 30 LED projectors installed in 4 towers and the construction of a service building divided into changing rooms for two teams, a referee’s changing room, a warehouse and bathrooms for public use. In addition, this phase has included the urbanization of the plot and the preparation of the sub-base of the playing field for the second field, which will be completed in Phase II with the installation of the new state-of-the-art artificial grass system on a in-situ Elastic Layer, the irrigation system, the lighting for this second field and stands.
The municipality has chosen for the rugby field of more than 11,000 square meters executed in this PHASE I, a last generation Made in Italy artificial grass, signed Limonta Sport, Duo Shape of 60 mm in height.
